HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL 4TH OF JULY!!!!
NOTE: As many of you may have already heard, there will be no fireworks on Ocracoke Island this year. The tragedy that occurred last year took 4 lives and altered many others. Those who live here and many of those who were visiting last July 4th will never forget these people. I am not sure how long it will be before Ocracoke is ready for fireworks again.
Please continue to keep in your thoughts and prayers Charles Kirkland, Jr; Terry Holland; Mark Hill and Lisa Simmons who lost their lives and Martez Holland (who was severly injured) along with their families, the firefighters, paramedics and first responders.

Our family has been coming to Ocracoke for over 40 years and it is Heaven. There is no other beach/town in the world that can compete with what we have here. It is unfortunate that like other towns, crime has hit this town and made our stay a little uncomfortable. This week we had a brand new cooler (purchased at Tradewinds) stolen as well as our surf board. It is very disappointing but we understand that kids will be kids. If anyone has suddenly become an owner of a mid-size Midland Cooler or Surfboard - we wold love to have them back in our garage - no questions asked. We will continue to enjoy the sun, beach and wonderful people of this town.
